Association of Florida Colleges' 2019 Conference on College Teaching & Learning a Huge Success
Updated: Apr 9, 2019
Professors Eric Cornish and Tommy Demos had the honor of presenting at AFC's 2019 Conference on College Teaching & Learning on Friday, April 5th. Our session, "Transform Your Campus into a 21st Century Digital Playground", empowered faculty, staff and administrators to cultivate a campus-wide digital literacy transformation at their institutions.
Participants came from 26 of the 28 Florida colleges to learn how to prepare students for career success by immersing them in a digital ecosystem that fosters active learning and enables creative and effective communication.
We learned that there is immense value to being a member of the Association of Florida Colleges, the most important of which is the ability to network with colleagues and counterparts from other institutions of higher learning across our great state. It was amazing to meet our extended family of educators and realize that we are all facing the same challenges as we work toward preparing our students for a high-tech 21st century workforce.
Miami Dade College is such a huge organization with 7 campuses and several outreach centers, that it is impossible to get to know all of our colleagues. This AFC conference helped to acquaint us with faculty and staff from our sister campus, EJP (formerly IAC).
